Since Henry Griffin started SouthernAg Carriers in 1990, he has assembled a management team that is focused on providing the quality of service that SouthernAg has become known for and on maintaining a work environment that has all of our 275+ employees feel like family.
John Kenneally is the Chief Executive Officer for Southern Ag Carriers, Inc. With 19 years of experience, John has developed a strong understanding and passion for the value of the truck driver. Something he feels is overlooked too often in an industry that cannot survive without them. His strong strategic and analytical skills coupled with having started in the industry as a driver has provided invaluable insight into how to not only run successful companies but relate to everyone at every level. John has experienced all the highs and lows of the trucking industry from being part of growing a business from $250mil to $2bil in annual sales to dealing with bankruptcy and liquidation both in the public and private sector. Prior to becoming CEO of SoAg, John was President & CEO of HVH Transportation, FTI Transport and Kansas Continental Express, Vice President of US-Operations for Dicom and Vice President of Transportation for Roadrunner Freight. All companies are/were Private Equity owned and John’s entire career has been working with PE firms on their portfolio companies performance. He began his career with Two Men and a Truck moving company in 2001. John also serves on the Board of Directors for Southern Ag Carriers. He attended North Carolina State University and currently resides in North Carolina with his wife and 3 young children.
Steve Yayac has been with Southern Ag since October 2020. He oversees all financial activities at the Company including treasury, accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable. Steve has over 12 years experience in finance. He began his career as an analyst in the manufacturing industry, advancing to the Director of Finance role. He then went on to work in M&A for a private equity owned company and most recently held the controller position for HVH Transportation before becoming CFO at Southern Ag Carriers.
Hugh Nall has been with Southern AG since the December of 2008, helping develop the growth of new customers and growth within the existing customer base. A native of Thomaston, GA, Hugh joined the Southern AG Team after a 24-year career in coaching college football.
Todd O Griffin has been with Southern Ag since May 13th, 1992. Prior to joining Southern Ag, Todd served in the United States Air Force and is now a Veteran of the Armed Forces. Throughout His Career at Southern Ag, Todd has served in various capacities. He spent His 1st year and a half in the Maintenance Dept, then moved into Dispatch. He was in Dispatch for 3-4 years and then moved into an Operation Management Role for 2-3 years. At this point, He spent 2 years in Recruiting. He moved back into the Operations and helped in the startup of Nationwide Brokerage. After 2 years in Brokerage, He moved back as the Director of Operations. He now serves as the VP of Operations and is located at the Sylvester, GA Terminal.
Brooke Johns serves as Director of Administration and Human Resources with over 22 years of experience. As Director of Administration, Brooke manages all functions of billing and payroll. In her HR role, she provides guidance on general human resource compliance issues as well as oversees policy and procedure implementation. She also supports the staffing of all positions across the company. In 2013, Brooke led the team to be the first transportation common carrier to become SQF certified in the U.S. She continues to serve as the companies certified SQF practitioner in a very demanding environment. Brooke started her career at Southern Ag as a safety assistant. She has seen the company grow from a 130-truck operation to over 200 trucks today. She lives in Leesburg, Georgia, with her husband and two children.
Justin joined Southern AG Carriers in February of 2023. Justin is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in maintenance and leadership roles across various industries. Currently, as the Director of Maintenance at Southern Ag Carriers, Inc, Justin oversees and manages the fleet’s maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Prior to his current role, Justin served as the Maintenance Administration Manager at GP Transco, where he successfully implemented effective administration strategies and fleet management practices. Justin also excelled as a Fleet Maintenance Shop Manager, demonstrating strong leadership skills and expertise in managing maintenance operations.
His professional background also includes experience as a 911 Telecommunications Operator and as a Firefighter/Paramedic. During his tenure as an Instructor in the Fire Science Program at Prairie State College, He imparted valuable knowledge to aspiring firefighters, further enhancing his leadership and management abilities. He is also a retired member of the Board of Trustees at Beecher Fire Protection District (IL), contributing his expertise to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
Throughout Justin’s diverse career, He has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Justin thrives in dynamic environments and excels in leading teams toward success.
Devin Griffin, Director of Operations at Southern AG Carriers, has been with the company a total of 5+ years. The first and most important responsibility is to help grow Southern AG by hiring drivers and oversee the onboarding process. People skills, open communication, and utilizing the tools provided to get the job done are the key factors in the building success of this company.
Prior to the company, being a certified CrossFit trainer, he served as head coach at World Camp CrossFit for six years while adding another two years of head coaching at Phoebe CrossFit where he help organize and start up the facility within the Phoebe Putney Corporation. With this experience, he gained many team building skills but ultimately helped him in a leadership role that reflects in the day to day duties here at Southern AG.
Jordan joined the Southern Ag family in March of 2020, Jordan has continuously cultivated strong culture in all of his Operational Leadership roles throughout his career. Presently serving as the Director of Sales and Operations North for Southern Ag Carriers, Jordan is responsible for Southern Ag’s Dunn NC terminal along with our Jonesboro, AR terminal.
Currently with Southern Ag Carriers, Jordan and his team have accomplished substantial growth within the Dunn, NC terminal through business development strategies, employee retention initiatives and a customer focused culture.
Prior to becoming a Director for Southern Ag, Jordan served as an Operations Manager for AAA Motor Club in North Carolina for 8 years. Jordan was dedicated to serving all members of the club and providing unparallel piece of mind to each member, through employee develop strategies, community involvement and simply doing what was right, each and every time.
Jordan is a North Carolina native, that spends most of his free time with his wife, three children, extended family and friends.
